"Molenaar’s touch on the keys always leaves space for the elegant bass lines and the dancing cymbals of his companions."

    The New
    Conrad Miller Trio

    On tour from Holland!

". . . every track strikes an emotional nerve and every track has a strong groove that'll capture your heart along with your mind."

Fronted by pianist Coen Molenaar, The New Conrad Miller Trio is one of the most exciting and inventive small groups on the European jazz scene, with no less than five critically acclaimed albums to their credit, the latest being Night Dreamer, taking its title from Wayne Shorter's 1964 album.

The use of South American rhythms and harmonies, combined with traditional jazz as well as blues and soul, results in lyrical, impressionistic compositions and arrangements that are both melancholic and, at the same time, joyful.

Classic harmony and counterpoint, coupled with high-energy, authentic, and powerful grooves, add a new colour and dimension to the traditional jazz trio. Therefore, be open to the unimaginable, as the unexpected may surprise you.

Coen says they had so much fun while recording the album,

they will be spreading that positive energy when performing live.

    COEN MOLENAAR

A pianist whose influences include Michel Petruciani, Herbie Hancock, Monty Alexander, George Duke, and McCoy Tyner, Coen works in a wide range of styles - from jazz, fusion, dance, and funk to R&B, rock, and neo-soul.

However, when he's not touring with the legendary Jan Akkerman and his jazz/funk/soul group, Tristan, Coen likes nothing better than to perform in a more stripped-down piano trio format.
