José Almarcha Trio
Following his stupendous concert in Wivenhoe last year, award-winning Spanish guitar virtuoso José Almarcha brings his electrifying trio to a new venue - the Red Lion in Manningtree!
Blending raw traditional flamenco roots with modern jazz harmony, the trio moves fluidly from stripped-back, pin-drop intimate guitar reflections to explosive, rhythmically charged peaks.
A winner of the prestigious Niño Ricardo International Flamenco Guitar Competition, José's trio bridges the gap between deep-rooted Andalusian tradition and contemporary jazz-infused exploration.
With an extensive background collaborating with top-tier Spanish dance and music luminaries, José has cemented his reputation as one of the most exciting young talents and composers in modern flamenco.
Following the release of his acclaimed third studio album, Un Nuevo Paseo, José continues to push creative boundaries while always respecting the sacred heartbeat of flamenco.
Completing the line-up are the brilliant Brazilian pianist Andre JahJah, whose rich harmonic layers introduce a rare and sophisticated jazz dialogue to the performance, and the ingenious, imaginative, versatile master percussionist Demi García Sabat, who brings striking rhythmic vitality.
