    Guthrie Govan &
    Zak Barrett

Join us for an unforgettable evening of world-class jazz fusion as two of the UK’s most virtuosic musicians take to the stage.

Award-winning guitarist Guthrie Govan is a globally acclaimed musician known for his jaw-dropping technique, musicality, and improvisational brilliance.

Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton were early influences, and later Steve VaiFrank Zappa, and Yngwie Malmsteen. However, jazz and fusion elements are also an important part of Guthrie's style, and he cites Joe Pass, Allan Holdsworth, Jeff Beck, and John Scofield as pivotal influences.

Aside from his duo collaboration with saxophonist Zak Barrett, the pair front their larger ensemble, the Fellowship. Guthrie has also worked with bands such as Asia (he was fetured on their albums Aura and Silent Nation), the Aristocrats, GPS, and the Young Punx, and performed with Dizzee Rascal on Later With Jools Holland.

A major force on the Essex jazz scene and an in-demand session musician, saxophonist Zak is a powerhouse and dynamic performer who brings groove, soul, and explosive creativity to the table.

When not collaborating with Guthrie, Zak regularly organises Sunday sessions at The Hotbox Chelmsford, is co-organiser of the Writtle Jazz Festival, and performs regularly at other venues in the region.

Expect a thrilling mix of genre-bending improvisation, deep musical chemistry, and sonic exploration, when they perform covers of songs by artists such as Herbie Hancock, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Sting, Stevie Wonder, and Herbie Hancock,
